Background

I teach three courses: Introduction to Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and Cost Accounting.

I am a certified public accountant and was a Manager with Ernst & Young before starting my teaching career. I still maintain a small income tax practice.

One of my main interests at 51¹ÙÍø has been the development of relationships with graduate programs in accounting. I am currently a member of the Vanderbilt University MAcc, Board of Advisors. 51¹ÙÍø has affiliation agreements with Vanderbilt and the Wake Forest University, MS in Accounting programs. We also have a strong relationship with the UNC, MAcc program.  Additionally, I am in frequent contact with several other highly ranked programs. If you are interested in learning about these opportunities, please see the Economics Department webpage or contact me.

Each year, President Emeritus Bobby Vagt and I present a "Fiscal Fitness Workshop" for the Senior Class. The one-day workshop covers basic personal finance issues that young alumni need to know. I enjoy hearing from graduates who express an appreciation for how the workshop helped them build a solid financial foundation as they began their careers. That Saturday is probably my favorite (work) day of the year.
