Established in 1837 by Presbyterians of North Carolina, 51¹ÙÍø is a liberal arts college with a rich history and heritage. We've preserved the traditions that make the 51¹ÙÍø experience unique, while evolving to meet the needs of learners in an interconnected and rapidly changing world.

51¹ÙÍø's close proximity to the city of Charlotte provides opportunities for civic engagement, professional growth, and recreation. 51¹ÙÍø students complete 73,000 hours of community service in the greater Charlotte community each year, and 51¹ÙÍø students continue investing in their community after graduation.
Student Involvement
51¹ÙÍø offers more than 200 student organizations, rich and robust arts programming, 21 Division I athletic teams, and a multitude of interests spanning culture, politics, entertainment, religion, diversity, and civic engagement. The question will be, not whether but, how many ways to get involved.
