Attendance
51¹ÙÍø expects all employees to maintain good attendance and to report to work on time. Excessive absences and tardiness hinder the effectiveness of a department and must be kept to a minimum. Excessive absences and/or repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action. An employee must promptly report all absences to the supervisor. If the employee is going to be late or is unable to come to work due to illness (also see Sick Leave policy), the employee should personally notify the supervisor before the start of the workday or as soon as possible. Many departments have specific call-in and absence reporting procedures which more specifically outline call-in procedures. Employees failing to report absences for three consecutive days may be separated from employment as a voluntary resignation.
