Student Rights & Responsibilities
The Student Handbook is a helpful resources for navigating campus life at 51¹ÙÍø. Divided into sections on the Honor Code, Code of Responsibility and Code of Disciplinary Procedures, the chief purpose of the Student Handbook is to establish guidelines that protect the rights of students as members of the 51¹ÙÍø community, and to outline responsibilities, obligations, and expectations for students necessary to ensure the success and stability of the campus environment.
The Student Handbook contains information about support services, student rights and responsibilities, and several policies related to student life, safety, privacy, and other items. Students are encouraged to review the handbook and contact the Dean of Students Office with questions, comments, or concerns. Dean of Students staff are committed to the development of all students and ensuring they are prepared for campus life, and academic and personal success.
The Student Handbook is reviewed and updated on an annual basis by the Dean of Students Office. A PDF version is available.
The Honor Council hears and determines all Honor Code violation charges presented to it by the Student Solicitors on referral from the Dean or their designee. The Honor Council elects its own Chair and Vice Chair to serve on one-year terms.
