Hazard Communication

Hazard Communication Program (PDF)

Describes how the college intends to protect the safety and health of our employees who are exposed to hazardous chemicals in the workplace.

All college employees have both a need and a right to know the potential hazards they might be exposed to in the workplace. The Hazard Communication Program educates and informs employees of the chemical substances that may be encountered in their daily operations. When using these chemicals, it is important that employees and students are properly trained to be aware of the identity and hazardous properties of such chemicals, what protective measures are available, and how to respond if an emergency situation were to arise.

Laboratory areas are exempt from this program. Refer to the college's Laboratory Safety standards and the Chemical Hygiene Plan for specific requirements affecting laboratory employees.
