Faculty Programs & Resources
Community-engaged learning is an experiential pedagogy that combines direct service, policy, community-based research, or project-based work with course learning goals to meet a community -defined need. 51¹ÙÍø's Center for Civic Engagement offers programs and resources for faculty as they engage with their communities.
Our resources aim to aid faculty in the knowledge-building, planning, designing, and implementing of community-based learning courses and programs, including strategies for reflection and assessment. Additionally, the center offers regular professional development opportunities including lunchtime discussions, workshops, and institutes.
Professionals in the center can identify community partners and projects consistent with learning outcomes of a particular course or a faculty member’s scholarly goals.
