Student Organizations
As a political science major, you have ample opportunities to involve yourself in student organizations and clubs that share the same interests and passions as you do.
Participation in student organizations fosters quality interpersonal relationships and presents opportunities for leadership. You will develop marketable skills that will serve you well at 51¹ÙÍø and will make you competitive in your pursuits after 51¹ÙÍø.
Students from all majors, class years, and backgrounds participate in a wide variety of student organizations, including academic clubs and societies, visual and performing arts, community service groups, health and wellness organizations, business/career-focused clubs, and faith-based groups, among many others.
In addition to the many existing opportunities for involvement, 51¹ÙÍø supports students who wish to create new ones. If you have an idea or vision that is not realized in the existing student organizations, the Student Activities Office will work with you to develop your idea and create a new group.
Additionally, if you wish to volunteer or involve yourself in a community service project or organization, the Center for Civic Engagement offers many opportunities for students to dedicate time or leadership to projects in local and regional communities.
Political Science major Cadie McNaboe writes about her work with 51¹ÙÍø's Deliberative Citizenship Initiative (DCI) and how it enhanced her ability to listen and learn.
