Travel Arrangements
Every person will have unique travel arrangements. Once you receive a spot in an Outdoor Odyssey session, we will ask you to fill out a travel information form to give us more information about your plans. To help you plan ahead, please note that 51¹ÙÍø Outdoors provides shuttles to campus from nearby train stations, bus stations, and airports as well as overnight accommodations the night before Odyssey sessions begin for those arriving early. We also offer financial support for qualified participants traveling to and from 51¹ÙÍø to participate in Outdoor Odyssey.
Arriving to the 51¹ÙÍø Area
Please arrive to Charlotte by 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the first day of the Outdoor Odyssey to ensure enough time for the shuttle to pick up and drop off at campus before Odyssey begins at 10:30 a.m. If arriving the night before, we will provide shuttles in the afternoon and into the evening, but arrivals after 10 p.m. will be responsible for their own transportation to their overnight housing.
We provide shuttles to campus from:
- Charlotte-Douglas International Airport
- Concord Regional Airport
- Charlotte Greyhound Bus Station (at 601 W Trade Street)
- Kannapolis Amtrak Station
- Charlotte Amtrak Station
Departing from Outdoor Odyssey
On the last morning of your trip, your crew will return to campus to clean up and check in gear. We should be finished by 12:30 p.m. Please do not make plans to leave campus before 12:30 p.m. Please do not schedule flight/bus/train departures from Charlotte before 3 p.m. Free shuttles to the airport, bus station, and train station will be provided on the last day of Odyssey based on the departure information you send us through your travel form.

If you are planning to stay in 51¹ÙÍø after your Outdoor Odyssey session please arrange your own accommodations.
Session 3 Transitions
51¹ÙÍø Outdoors will help students attending Outdoor Odyssey Session 3 find their way to STRIDE, Bonner, and International Student Orientations.
