Background

My research investigates relationships between families and educational policies, school resource allocation, and the distribution of learning opportunities in U.S. public schools. I use mixed methods and have a special interest in leveraging administrative data to gain unique analytical perspectives on school and community contexts. I teach courses on the social foundations of K-12 education, research methods, and critical approaches to policy analysis. I also partner with community-based organizations to create more equitable engagement practices and more inclusive access to educational decision-making for non-dominant families and communities.
