Background

I came back to 51¹ÙÍø in 2023 as a faculty member in the French and Francophone Studies Department (adjunct faculty member from 1993 until 1999). Prior to 51¹ÙÍø, I was a professor in the World Languages Department at Cannon School in Concord.

My doctoral dissertation focused on the French epistolary novel in the 18th and 19th centuries with a concentration on Balzac. My master's thesis analyzed 19th century realism and Balzac.

I have been a French language and culture AP instructor and rater for twenty years. I am certified as a leader in global education by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a member of the Global Education Benchmark Group and the World Affair Council of Charlotte.

I focus my research on global studies in the francophone world.
